No good reason to ride in the swimming area there anyway: it's shallow, no flatwater, full of obstacles and people downwind. Just go out 200m from the actual boat channel, which is roughly between the wak spot and the right wavebreaker. Dont drop the kite or jump near the swimming zones. Been going out this way for 5 years now even midsummer, 0 issues so far.

The police have not intruded or complained to us until now but now the beach season has started and eventually they will be very strict from now on no drama !!! This is a serious issue police or no police that now will affect all kiters !

Maybe launch your kites at either side of the beach, not near the life guards. People come to the beach with kids, and accidents happen mostly while launching, even for experienced kitesurfers

Exactly that was what i spoke with the police. This is what they told me to mention to everyone, ride deep not to have issues. Not fines and warnings and all this drama

The police said that will fine whoever is riding close to the swimmers and close to the shore (dropping kites on the beach close to sunbeds etc). So ride carefully tomorrow in Malindi and everything will be fine !
