I have carefully considered various trap designs, including those shaped like tubes, cones, pyramids, and boxes. Based on my analysis, I can assure you that cone and pyramid designs lack the necessary structural elements to inadvertently capture fish, as they lack the top borders present in traditional fish traps. This design consideration would ensure that non-target species can easily escape, thereby minimizing unintentional bycatch. It is worth noting that this proposal has gained traction within the angling community. Many fellow anglers are supportive of this initiative, and I am confident that a significant number would be willing to endorse this proposal should it be required. I am confident that adopting this proposal could yield multiple benefits. Not only would anglers have the opportunity to diversify their catches, but also, through the active management of the invasive crawfish population, we could aid in the restoration of our local aquatic ecosystems.
