Founded as a death/black metal band that pioneered the Swedish death metal sound. Sumerian Cry was the first full-length album recorded at Sunlight Studio. They first changed to gothic/doom metal, and then to gothic rock. After a few years of absence, they added some black metal elements on Amanethes, but they switched back to a softer gothic rock sound on their 2012 effort The Scarred People.
Tiamat is a primordial goddess in the Mesopotamian mythologies, representing beauty and creation.
