A friend of mine didn't manage to get riding in summer time, and now onshore wind and waves straight to their back is somewhat scary. So another spot would be a great option

There are different types of difficult conditions. The issue is not that its cold In theory everything sounds good In practice, for a beginner, to get on the board for the first time, in on-shore conditions, with waves coming from your back, and only 30 meters of water until the shore - is nearly impossible.

If you learn in the late summer, most likely, you will hire again an instructor for a couple of hours to ride and get used in winter conditions

Thats always the case Personally i learned in very shitty conditions many years ago. Looking back, if I knew then what I know now, i would have just went to a normal place with normal conditions and get it over with in a few weeks
