@VitelliusVThe losing ghost vote for Galadriel is because that character becomes evil upon death which would potentially mean 5 evil characters at once so removing the ghost vote at least reduces evils voting power. Yes most of the roles are very slightly tweaked from existing roles, definitely nothing ground breaking. Sauron choosing a ring bearer is essentially like the Lleech choosing a host however rather than being good but poisoned they are turned evil and not poisoned. Again like the Lleech if the host/ring bearer dies then evil loses. Frodo if chosen is the ring bearer but does not turn evil and Sauron can now die if executed. This will also happen if Frodo chooses the ring bearer at night. If Gollum chooses the ring bearer they become the new "host" (basically a snake charmer). There could be an instance of the ring bearer switching twice if Gollum chooses the host first and then Frodo chooses Gollum at a later night.
